NBA Star Al Harrington grew up in a family where money was tight. His mother would give him $100 a year to purchase shoes for himself as well as his three siblings. The 28-year old learned early how tough it is to buy high quality sneakers with limited resources. It's only fitting that he's now part of a program to help millions of children worldwide who have never owned a pair of sneakers, or even a pair of shoes!
The New York Knicks forward, is moving forward to help kids, knowing how much pressure there is to wear the latest athletic shoes with hefty price tags. He's unveiling his new line of shoes which will meet that trendy, high quality need, but will be affordable.
As part of this effort, the basketball Superstar, will also be announcing a plan to donate more than one million pairs of shoes to Samaritan's Feet, a non-profit relief organization that puts shoes on the feet of children all around the world. The shoes will be distributed to needy children in 42 countries around the globe. It will be the largest single donation in Samaritan's Feet's history!
