American families eat nearly 70 percent of their meals at home, according to recent findings by the USDA – and, with people across the country tightening their budgets, that number is on the rise. That puts the responsibility of what your family eats at mealtime squarely on moms.
It turns out all moms may NOT be created equal, based on the findings of a new study conducted by Rutgers University and published in Nutrition Research. It reveals new insights into the food decisions moms are making for their families. The study, commissioned by the Canned Food Alliance, is the first of its kind to segment the influences on moms' food choices and divide them into four distinct categories.
So what type of mealtime mom are you? Noted nutrition expert and television personality, Carolyn O'Neil, MS, RD will help you decide. Carolyn is a registered dietician and an award-winning author and journalist who reported on food and health at CNN for nearly 20 years.
