It's important to take one room at a time – decide where you may be spending a large percentage of your time and begin there. Decorators say when money is tight, redecorating budgets are best used in the main rooms like kitchen, living rooms and bathrooms. Plan your budget before you begin your project and try to determine a focal point for your room makeover.

Ty Pennington shared important advice for anyone considering on re-vamping their home. Ty shared his tips on how to freshen your home without breaking the bank, plus he showcased the latest in interior design trends for this fall and how you can re-create popular looks in your home.

Ty Pennington is also helping to kick off the 5th Annual Design on a Dime Benefit in NYC this month. The charity event will feature room vignettes by 50 leading interior designers with proceeds benefitting homeless and low-income families affected by HIV and AIDS.
