Create a great centerpiece from materials such as leaves, pinecones, branches and acorns that you find during a nature walk.
Get the kids involved by having arts and crafts projects that will help decorate the room. The adults will absolutely get involved.
Add autumn colors to your party. Fill vases with kumquats, acorns or walnuts in their shells, spray painted gold! Top with flowers in complementary shades.
Create a signature drink to fit the theme of your party, whether it's a pumpkin lemonade or a pumpkin martini.
While you've got the spray paint out, spray your uncut pumpkins (real or fake) that are leftover from Halloween, a brilliant gold or copper color, and tuck them in between votives and candles on the main table or around the house.
Create unique and memorable place cards for your guests by using seasonally inspired "Thank You/Gratitude" cards. The hostess (or family members or dinner guests) should jot down on the card why they are thankful for that person. Place the card in its envelope (the envelope can also be seasonally decorated if you enjoy creating paper crafts) and with a calligraphy pen (color coordinated with the predominate color from your holiday decorating palette or gold), write their name and place the gratitude card at their assigned seat.
Hang fun vinyl wall decals. They are cheaper than buying art work and are temporary and customizable. Use the decals with chalk boards on them so your guests can "write on the walls"!
Hand out cute Chinese to go boxes for your guests to pack up the food and bring home with them.
